Word Description
browser A program used to browse the Internet and view web sites. Examples are Netscape Navigator, Mozilla FireFox, Safari, and Microsoft Internet Explorer to name a few.
IP Address An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique number assigned to a web server and then to a web site. An IP address can also be thought of as the equivalent of a street address or a phone number for a web site on the Internet. Just as each street address and phone number uniquely identifies a house or telephone, an IP address can uniquely identify a specific web site.
ISP Internet Service Provider (aka: Internet Access Provider) - this is the DSL, Cable, or other high speed provider, or Dial-up provider that you connect through to access the Internet.
Microsoft Frontpage extensions Microsoft FrontPage Extensions are programs that provide the server-side implementation of many FrontPage features. FrontPage software communicates with the extensions to direct requests to FrontPage programs, allowing such features as uploading and downloading files and utilizing WebBot components.
Registrar The company with whom you registered your domain name.
